Thomas Tut Diag is a 29 years old bright social worker in Bethany Christian services. Like most refugees in Pinyudo he shares the painful experience of being separated with his wife and 3 children in the tribal conflicted erupted in South Sudan. Since 2008 he is residing in Gambella, Pinyudo I refugee camp, from then on, he tried to make a living for himself trying different opportunities. In 2018 Thomas joined Bethany Global and worked his way up to be a supervisor which earned him respect and reliability in his community. He has attended different training concerning mental health issues including Problem management + which equipped him to identify people with mental problems, case management and how to help people in distress. He said “ I am privileged to get this chance of healing myself and others from the trauma we have endured” similarly, he feels motivated and inspired to give back to the community when he witnesses the progress of clients. Including counseling his favorite activities are giving awareness and training community members. He aspires to pursue more education in counseling to reach people in South Sudan by incorporating the training he received in Bethany Global.
