Dawit Fekadu

Country Director

Ethiopia country director, Dawit Fekadu, LLB, has over a decade of diverse experience in the field of international child welfare, holding senior-level management positions at Bethany and World Vision Ethiopia. He has extensive experience in developing strategic plans and ensuring smooth implementation within a diverse range of program areas. Dawit has proven capacities in engaging government and donor representatives with a proven track record of networking and advocacy. He demonstrates excellence in leadership of large and diverse teams of professional staff, with solid competencies in performance management, coaching and mentoring, and team building.

Dinke Tesema

Foster-to-Adopt Program Manager

Dinke has served in an international and local nonprofit organization for more than 11 years. Prior to Bethany, Dinke served with African Initiatives for a Democratic World Order as the gender and education programs coordinator in a supervisory role. Her outreach engagement includes MoWCY (Ministry of Women, Children, and Youth) and the Ministry of Education, participating in regional educational curriculum development activities and the national Gender Mainstreaming movement, and leading the Education for All Children initiative. Dinke holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology and a second degree in social work and business administration. She has strong risk analysis skills and excels in decision-making.

Nazrawit Damenu

Family Preservation and Empowerment Manager

With a master’s degree in social work, Nazrawit is passionate about working with orphaned and vulnerable children in communities. Her professional training and expertise provide more than ten years of direct work experience to Bethany. Nazrawit empowers and equips those we serve with the tools to overcome challenges and reach their goals. In her role as a manager, Nazrawit emphasizes accuracy and dependability of family preservation and empowerment.

Tewodros Maru

Program Director

Tewodros holds a master’s degree and more than eight years of experience in nonprofit management, leading diverse professional teams, delivering high-impact solutions for country programs, and managing operations in complex humanitarian environments, including Hargeisa Somaliland. Tewodros has served with ADRA (Adventist Development and Relief Agency International) and Innovative Humanitarian Solutions to provide various services for refugees and internally displaced persons. Tewodros’ service in various roles includes areas like Somaliland, the Tigray region, and the Addis Ababa Somali region since 2012. He demonstrates exceptional analytical, organizational, decision-making, and leadership skills. Tewodros also leads initiatives to create and execute plans, meet changing demands and needs, and leverage program planning and development opportunities.

Adey Dereje

Social Services Coordinator for Africa Programs

Adey has previously served as the coordinator and manager of Bethany’s Ethiopia Foster-to-Adopt program that works to de-institutionalize the care of children. As the social services coordinator for Africa programs, Adey performs key capacity-building functions to ensure our social services in different countries perform to the standard of best practice. Her master’s in social work positions her to engage in continuous liaising, assessment, monitoring, and evaluation of staff to identify and determine staff development needs and areas for improvement. She also participates in program development and environmental assessment, service identification, strategic partnership appraisal processes, and development of specific interventions for helping children. Adey has served Bethany Ethiopia for the past ten years.

Abenezer Tesfaye

Finance and Operations Manager

Abenezer Tesfaye, holds a MSc in Accounting and Finance and a BA in Accounting. He has acquired more than a decade of experience working for Global fund and World Vision Ethiopia within various finance and management roles. Working for different Governmental and International NGOs’ has enabled Abenezer to gain valuable knowledge and experience in financial management, accounting, and develop skills in interpersonal communication and team collaboration.

Serawit Omer

Monitoring and Evaluation Manager

Serawit Omer has a master’s degree in Demography from Addis Ababa University including a diversified experience in the Field of Research and Data Management. Her extensive experience includes analyzing qualitative and quantitative data, designing data management systems, implementing monitoring and evaluation systems, and providing support for data quality assurance. Prior to working with Bethany Serawit, has served International NGO’s, consulting offices and health institutions in various roles including; ITAD, FHI360 and various UK based projects.

Fekadu Negusie

Human Resource and Operations Manager

Fekadu Negusie has more than 25 years of experience, 12 of which are in project management, and monitoring and evaluation. He has served Bethany for the past seven years in different roles as the Programs Coordination Manager and Program Development and Quality Assurance Manager. Fekadu holds a BSC degree in Physics, a BTH degree in Community Development and a MBA in Corporate Management. He is also a talented trainer acquiring hands-on experience in training community leaders within the areas of economic and social empowerment including; government experts, low income based families and several leaders of faith based and community-based organizations.
